I started my starter from scratch and it took 3 weeks of feeding and discarding to get it up and doubling consistently. I ended up adding just the slightest bit of agave (literally not even an 1/8 of a tsp) and that gave it the push it needed to be ready for baking. Now I make sourdough almost every week, it's so fun!

Hey Liv, ive been baking sourdough for over 4 years now. I use tap water, I feed a 1:1:1 ratio and I’ve used bread flour or AP, but I always do half white and half whole wheat. Your starter needs to breath so you should not have Saran Wrap on it or a closed lid. I use a 16oz wide mouth mason jar and I just rest the lid on top. Do not screw it on. Mine lives in the fridge now because it is mature and I feed it every 2 weeks, or if I want to bake a loaf. For your discard, keep that in a jar closed tightly, in the fridge. Hope that helps.

My son was the same. He was 24 lbs at 6 months old, and didn't have interest in food. He stated the same weight until he was 2. He's 4 now and still doesn't have much interest in food. I have to constantly remind him to eat or he gets super hangry! Great blog! :-)
